Anxiety, nerves, butterflies – call it what you want. But no matter how many times you’ve played, or how many stages you’ve played on, you never lose that little sense of heightened awareness that comes before a performance. It might hit you in the morning, it might hit you at showtime, but it always hits you.
It hit me today when the Spider Valve™ and LowDown® amps arrived for tomorrow’s show, the first of our two co-sponsored CMJ 2010 events. As the amps rolled in I noticed their road-worn appearance, and it got me thinking: A nick here, a scuff there – each little scar tells a story. Maybe a nervous guitarist rolled this Spider Valve 112 into a wall before a label showcase. Maybe an overexcited bassist dropped this LowDown 410 cab after playing the best show of his life. Whatever happened, it was enough to trigger my own heightened awareness and excitement for our upcoming shows.
So come watch us in action, and hear some great bands powered by some great tones.
